Fragrance News: Il Profumo line

I had a chance to explore Il Profumo line at Takashimaya in New York. The fragrances are created by Silvana Casoli. My favourite fragrance turned to be Café Vert, which opens up on a crisp green note, recalling verbena and lemongrass, before drying down to a slightly roasted chocolaty finish. Chocolat is a scent that recalls Angel, while Vanille Bourbon, which contains orange blossom, vanilla, orchid, rose and heliotrope, might appeal to vanilla fans. Some other scents include Vetiver de Java, Chocolat Amère, Musc Bleu and Ambre d'Or. The line is also available from Koerperkult-Hamburg, a German online store.

Dear V, I liked the Cafe Vert best of all of them too, but the coffee notes at the end were a little too caffeinated for me--they actually made me feel sort of jumpy! Still, an interesting perfume and one I'd probably retry. Did you try their Gardenia Royale? It was to the right and on a lower surface. A Chanel Gardenia knockoff, pure (well, probably not PURE) jasmine.

V, I don´t like the line at all - which may also be that way due to the costumer service at Körperkult - one of the worst I know...
I tried most of them, but I can´t recall having seen Café Vert...Mandarine may be nice if you´re into fruity scents - for me it was too fruity, like a limonade rather than a perfume.
Vanille Bourbon starts very musky on my skin before it settles into a normal vanilla scent - I didn´t like that combination.

L, I tried Gardenia Royale on the strip, but not on my skin. I should return and revisit it. Cafe Vert is nice, but it seemed to fade very quickly.

C, good to hear other reviews. I was not aware of the line until I visit Takashimaya. Their booklet was not particularly illuminating either.
