Isabelle Doyen says that she became a perfumer through a convergence of circumstances. At the age of 4, she asked herself how a pear can smell of rose and a rose smell of pear. She found this mystery dizzying. She was intrigued by the notion of perfume and she thought that it was a very unique pursuit. Now, it has been 18 years, since she has been practicing the art of perfumery. From SFP.
She created the following fragrances for Annick Goutal: Ce Soir Ou Jamais, Duel, Eau du Fier, Eau du Sud, Gardenia Passion, Grand Amour, Les Nuits d’ Hadrien, Mandragore, Petite Cherie, Sables, Vanille Exquise, and Songes, to be released in 2006. Her other fragrance is Eau du Prince Jardinier by Prince Jardinier.
Greetings...
She created "Sables" - was this with Annick Goutal or is this a re create?
Sables is one of my favorite fragrances from the line and I have only found one store that has it on hand. I understand its hard to get this one out of France or maybe thats just a department story...
May I compliment your web log and your passion in your reviews.

Charles, thank you for your kind words!
Sables was created for Annick Goutal, or rather with Annick Goutal, who until her passing away was a very important influence, from what I understand. I also like Sables, and I have found it in certain stores easily, but not in others. It depends on the store buyers' decisions. I am not sure where you live, but in New York, Bergdorf Goodman carried it the last time I was there a few weeks ago.

Thanks for this post dear V - I do admire some of Isabelle Doyen's creations.
BTW most Annick Goutal boutiques carry Sables.
Have a lovely day! :)

Sables is also available at Barney's in New York. It's a great perfume.
I've also had the privilege of sampling "Songes", which is a beautiful perfume as well, with a great neoclassical structure. I can't wait to buy a bottle in January when it is released.

I'm eager to try Songes! I admire AG perfumes but I don't do them justice somehow. Chevrefeuille smells delightful on others but on me, it falls flat.

Dear N, thank you. I love their boutique on Rue Castiglione. I think that every boutique carries the entire range, although there are not that many free-standing boutiques in the States.

Evan, yes, Songes is amazing! I would not even guess that it were Goutal--very different style. I am also looking forward to buying my own bottle in January.

Laura, you would love Songes! There is nothing remotely flat about it. Chevrefeuille is lovely, but it lasts for 15 minutes on my skin.

Hello, darling!
Interesting that you should have a brief, sweet write-up about this Annick Goutal perfumer, as I am wearing Eau de Charlotte EDP today. It's yummy cocoa/black currant note is perfect for a fall day.
Anyway, I am loving AG fragrances more and more. I have a big bottle of Folavril and fell in love with Des Lys when I visited my sister in August. She has a great collection of AG perfumes, and her favorite is Isabelle's creation, Ce Soir Ou Jamais.
Hugs!

Dear R, what a coincidence! I need to revisit Eau de Charlotte soon, because it sounds wonderful. Like you, I have been enjoying Annick Goutal compositions more and more over the years. Ce Soir Ou Jamais is one of my favourites too.

Ce Soir Ou Jamais is my all time favourite. I really enjoy Annick Goutal compositions such as the Mandagore, Songes, Petit Cherie and Noreli.
