Giveaway: Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess Soleil spray 100ml (3.4 oz) bottle. It is full, other than 5ml I decanted out for reviewing.
How it works: Please leave a comment answering a question "Do you rotate your fragrances or do you tend to wear a particular perfume for an extended period of time?" Each participant will be assigned a number, and the winner will be selected via a random number generator. Draw is now closed, please check back later this week to learn if you won.
Giveaway explanation: anybody from the US or overseas can enter it as long as you answer specific questions explained in the contest rules. My policy is not to retain any full bottles from the manufacturers or PR firms. If a winner does not respond within a week, I reserve a right to randomly pick a runner up.
I rotate my fragrances all the time to match my mood and outfits. If I'm wearing a tee and jeans, then I'll go for something fruity and light, but if I'm wearing something less casual then I'll wear a more sexy muskier scent.

My bottles are roughly arranged by season and 'weight' (light to heavy), which encourages some rotation. Even so, I tend to have favourites - right now it's tropical florals.
Posted by: axum | March 16, 2011 at 04:19
I rotate too. I pick and choose according to mood and blogging schedule (which basically follows my mood as well though ;))
Posted by: Olfactoria | March 16, 2011 at 04:19
Oh, I definitely rotate and just re-organized my perfume shelf the other day so my spring/summer perfumes would be close at hand.
I would love to win this as Bronze Goddess original is one of my best summer fragrances - I just love its smell. :)

I rotate according to mood and situation. Thanks for the giveaway opportunity!
Posted by: rosarita | March 16, 2011 at 04:47
organized chaos...would best describe my perfume cabinet....kind of by fragrance house and favourites...only I can make my way through it!!!
Posted by: hongkongmom | March 16, 2011 at 05:21
I rotate as well. Randomness reigns!
Posted by: *jen | March 16, 2011 at 05:52
I rotate based on season. I have about 4-5 favorites each season and rotate among them based on moodd. It's a little thrill every morning making the choice.
Posted by: Nancy C. | March 16, 2011 at 06:16
I rotate during the day as well as daily. I currently don''t have an EL, but overdosed myself with Youth Dew during high school! Thanks for the draw.
Posted by: Mellisu | March 16, 2011 at 07:57
I deffinitely rotate. First i use different set of perfumes depending on the season (the selection is related to my feeling of what i would like to wear in winter or summer)
Then i choose how i feel or would like to feel during the day and apply. But recently I seldom use the same perfume two consecutive days. I love the diversity;) Sometimes my choice depends even on the colors of my clothes but it is again my understanding of what goes well with what:)

I rotate a lot - I get bored easily and need variation. I will, however, often have a theme going on - right now it's roses.
Posted by: Marie | March 16, 2011 at 08:13
I rotate my fragrances all the time to match my mood and outfits. I use several perfumes each day - one at work, one in the afternoon/evening and one for sleep. I make some of my choices according to season, but the climate in Norway means that I can use a lot of my fragrances most of the year.
Thanks for the draw!
Posted by: Marte | March 16, 2011 at 08:20
I tend to rotate between four seasonal favorites...very light in summer...woodsy in fall...oriental spicy in winter and in spring floral chyfre. My all time favorite is Coco Mademoiselle. I keep going back to that one, especially for nights out. Thanks for the draw.
Posted by: Maureen | March 16, 2011 at 08:20
I don't usually repeat yesterday's perfume, but "rotate" suggests a far more systematic process than the one I use, which is more like "what appeals today?" I'll sometimes tailor it to the weather, usually by contrast: a very dry smell for a wet day, and so on. And I often just ask my wife what she wants to smell for today!
Posted by: Fernando | March 16, 2011 at 08:30
Hi there! I rotate my fragrances somewhat, but I find that my "winter" fragrances are still wearable for bedtime, even when it's unbearably hot in Texas summers, so I keep my entire collection together for the most part. Thanks for hosting the draw!
Posted by: Aimee L'Ondee | March 16, 2011 at 08:34
I use a fragrance for certain period until I give it away or use up. Never rotating. Thanks for entering me in the drawing!!
Posted by: Alica | March 16, 2011 at 08:37
I rotate as well. At certain times I'm just not that crazy about certain scents. But give it awhile & I can't live without them!
Posted by: Pklagrange | March 16, 2011 at 08:41
I rotate my perfumes, but I find that I go through stretches where particular scents dominate - I wear them every other day or so. These often seem or become thematic with what is going on in my life at the time.
Posted by: Leah | March 16, 2011 at 08:44
I rotate my perfumes, but sometimes in winter I feel like wearing some of the fresher fragrances that I have "sleeping" in a box. That's why where I live, even in winter, there are some cool or hot days.
And in a regular week, I usually rotate too. Rarely I have worn the same perfume for two or three days (or five!) in a row.
Posted by: Isa | March 16, 2011 at 09:00
I guess I rotate, but not in an organized way, more like, What sounds good today? Most of what I have falls in the woodsy/oriental/spice camp.
Posted by: Julie | March 16, 2011 at 09:07
I rotate a lot!! It all depends on mood, weather, activity!
Posted by: Isabeau | March 16, 2011 at 09:13
I rotate my scents, but find myself reaching for my standby comfort perfumes, the ones I've
been wearing for years. Azuree, Chanel, Guerlain. Love that there are so many places to buy
samples--makes it so easy to try a wide variety of scents.
Posted by: Lorelie | March 16, 2011 at 09:14
For twenty years I wore one scent, then about six months ago I started branching out and exploring. I'm still exploring, so I try something new every day. I've collected a large cache of samples in the past six months, looking for a few to purchase. I expect that after some time in this exploration phase that I will settle into some sort of rotation. I don't expect that I will ever wear one scent every singe day again.
Posted by: Alice C | March 16, 2011 at 09:34
I definitely rotate on a regular basis. Heavy orientals during the cold season and lighter florals during the spring and summer. Every now and again, I get wild and wear orientals during the hot summer months.
Posted by: maureenC | March 16, 2011 at 09:41
I rotate according to my mood, and what I expect from the day (i.e. meeting? office worthy scent? long car trip with DH? a light scent he doesn't object to, etc.) Sometimes I "match" the seasons or weather, but sometimes I like to wear spring/summer scents in the depths of winter just to remind myself that there will be a spring/summer...eventually. That said, if I'm sampling a new scent, I may wear it for several days in a row to get a feel for it, see if it's FB-worthy or if I want a decant.
Posted by: maggiecat | March 16, 2011 at 09:54
I rotate by season/weather to some degree when it comes to heavy or sweet scents (never in the summer) or the eau fraiches/very citrusy ones (only in the summer). Otherwise it depends on what my plans for the day are and what my mood is. I'm fine with wearing the same scent for a few days in a row if it's one I particularly love, and also when I'm trying to decide if I really like a scent I'm sampling.
I've read that Bronze Goddess Soleil is greener and more citrusy than the the usual Bronze Goddess releases which makes it right up my alley, so I'll be keeping my fingers crossed. Thanks for the draw opportunity.
Posted by: Lindaloo | March 16, 2011 at 09:55
I rotate depending on the mood and the circumstances and of course season.... rarely wear the same fragrance two days in a row.
Love to have the new BG Soleil
Posted by: Guido | March 16, 2011 at 09:59
Both. Whenever I actually make a bottle purchase, I tend to wear that scent at least every other day for quite a while - up to a month sometimes. But I'll alternate days with other favorites or with samples I have to test. I definitely do have some seasonal rotations, although there are scents I wear all year round.
Posted by: Susan | March 16, 2011 at 10:09
Another rotater! Sometimes I'll wear the same perfume more than once in a week, but almost never two days in a row.
Posted by: Elisa | March 16, 2011 at 10:35
I do rotate my perfumes according to season, although I have a few haciendas I keep on my nightstand all year round.
Posted by: Amanda | March 16, 2011 at 10:35
I'm a rotator. and a serial fragrance cheater which makes me a fragrance slut.
Posted by: Connie | March 16, 2011 at 10:42
I rotate a little bit, but not that much. My fragrance collection measures only about half a dozen scents (I don't really like that many things), and my daily scent is usually one of two fragrances. If I had a larger collection, I'm sure I'd rotate more.
Posted by: RMF325 | March 16, 2011 at 10:44
I rotate my fragrances, but there is no method to it. Sometimes I like to dig around in a bag of samples to find something neglected to try. At this rate, I may never use up an entire bottle of anything!
Posted by: KathyT | March 16, 2011 at 10:55
I tend to wear the same thing for long periods with odd moments of just something else! The something else never seems quite right though. I would like to be more versatile, but I'm not!
Posted by: Vishishta | March 16, 2011 at 11:05
I rotate daily and seasonally. All of the current-season scents go into a drawer in my bedroom, while off-season scents take up a drawer in another room. Occasionally, I do wear a scent from the off-season drawer. Rarely, if ever, do I wear the same scent two or more days in a row! There are a couple of fragrances, though, that have no season because I love them so much - I'd hate to hide them away 9 months out of the year. ;-) BTW - I just switched my current-season drawer from winter to spring!!! Yay!
Posted by: karin | March 16, 2011 at 11:07
I rotate very often- depending, mainly on moods and/or seasons
so many lovely creations, it would be a pitty to neglect for too long any of them
Posted by: Irina | March 16, 2011 at 11:15
I wear a scent depending on my mood, or if a mood change is needed! There is nothing like fragrance to lift a weary soul, soothe a heavy heart, or celebrate a lightness of being!
Posted by: LadyShine | March 16, 2011 at 11:17
(My apologies - part of my comment was left off...)
I rotate frequently as I wear a scent depending on my mood, or if a mood change is needed. There is nothing like fragrance to lift a weary soul, soothe a heavy heart, or celebrate a lightness of being!
Posted by: LadyShine | March 16, 2011 at 11:22
I rotate my fragrances depending up two things 1) my mood and 2) the weather! Thanks for adding me to the draw!
Posted by: bloody frida | March 16, 2011 at 11:46
I rotate---probably spend more time deciding what perfume to wear each day and night than what clothes to wear with it! Thanks so much for draw.
Posted by: Jane | March 16, 2011 at 11:52
I rotate regularly depending on my mood - unless I just can't decide what to wear or just don't want to think too hard, then I'll just go with a current favorite. Thank you for offering the opportunity to win the BG Soleil!
Posted by: DebCOC | March 16, 2011 at 12:43
I tend to use the same scents and over time get into a rut. Usually, I'll kinda rediscover other perfumes I have and wonder why I hadn't worn it so long. Thanks for the giveaway, I've heard so many nice things about this EL perfume, would love to try it.
Posted by: Audrey H | March 16, 2011 at 12:46
Hi Victoria,
I rotate my many fragrances, according to my mood. If I want to finish a specific bottle, I try to use it often, though...
Thanks for this great giveaway!
Posted by: Sophie M | March 16, 2011 at 13:02
I like to rotate my perfumes. I notice that if I wear one for awhile I don't smell it as well as a new scent. I try and use all my perfume equally. Estee Lauder is one of my favorite perfume houses so this would make a great addition to my collection. Thank you for the chance to win a bottle.
Posted by: Stacy | March 16, 2011 at 13:13
I rotate by mood and season during the day, but sometimes at night I wear a comfort scent that I stick with for a long time.
Posted by: dDub | March 16, 2011 at 13:30
I rotate: daily, seasonally, depending on my moods. Since I'm still quite the newbie, I'm having so a LOT of fun sampling and comparing, I often have two fragrances on at the same time. I've found it's one of the best ways to detect similarities and differences. Last week I did a Après l'Ondée/L'eau d'Hiver comparison; it was fascinating to smell how from moment to moment they smelled similar, then different, then similar, then different....

I'm in the majority! Rotator.
Posted by: K. | March 16, 2011 at 14:09
I rather like the sample of EL Bronze Goddess I picked up last week.
If a scent captivates me I'll give it a designated period (usually seasonal, sometimes vacational) to be fondly associated with forevermore.
If a scent is enjoyable but not excellent (poor sillage, mediocre drydown, off-putting note, etc) it goes into occasional rotation for when the mood strikes.
I'm just beginning to get into layering perfumes. Midnight Fantasy + Insolence = berrylicious longevity.

I rotate my fragrances depending on season. Right now I'm very into narcissus and hyacinth because of spring.
Posted by: kjanicki | March 16, 2011 at 14:22
I rotate my fragrances and samples! I have 4 categories of samples and decants: untried, unloved (what Robin at NST calls purgatory), loved for spring, loved for winter. Our Winter and Fall are really very much alike in terms of weather, so I don't have a separate one for Fall and I have just started one for the Summer (even though our Summer is quite a lot like Spring).
My full bottles are organized by the season in the drawer of my dresser, the current season closer to the front and the non-current one closer to the back.
It works so far.

I have one usual scent, and a few variations on the theme to mix it up a bit. However, I love to have special perfumes which I associate with special events. It heightens the sense of occasion for me.
Posted by: [email protected] | March 16, 2011 at 14:35
I definitely rotate depending on the season, my outfit, time of day, occasion, etc. Otherwise, I would never use up all the fragrances I have!
Posted by: Stephanie | March 16, 2011 at 14:55
I rotate, but randomly. Sometimes on a theme, rotating all my leathers for instance or
Sometimes something in a blog will bring one of my fragrances to mind. I like it like that.
Posted by: Cooper | March 16, 2011 at 15:54
I rotate, but between a couple of fragrances, which stay on rotation for an extended period of time. Right now I've been on a several weeks' long kick of white florals (Joy extrait, Joy EDT, A La Nuit and Fleurs de Citronnier). Before that, for a long time I was switching between between Feminite de Bois and Parfum Sacre for a month or so.
Posted by: jms | March 16, 2011 at 16:16
Wow, what a great draw, thanks!
I have some perfumes in "heavy rotation" like a top 40 radio station, while others are only worn on occasion, and each list changes with the seasons. Right now Miss Dior is a frequent player, as are other "dark" chypres, but when summer comes it will be lighter scents like YSL "Y" as far as chypres go and white florals, breezy florals like Ines de la Fressange (1999) that get most of the workouts.
Posted by: Flora | March 16, 2011 at 16:27
I divide my fragrances into seasons (Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter) and I only wear each group in that season. It's unmanageable otherwise. I can't keep track of them all!
Posted by: london | March 16, 2011 at 16:36
My daytime fragrances are arranged by seasons and I usually weas the same one for weeks. For the evening go out scent I choose based on my mood and the occasion.Plus I have couple of frags reserved for special events like important business meeting, concert etc.
Posted by: Kata | March 16, 2011 at 17:19
I rotate according to mood, if I were to rotate according to season I would never be able to wear "cold weather" scents. :-(
I've never smelled this summer scent and it sounds as though I really need to, given where I live. :-)
Thank you for the opportunity to be in the draw!
Posted by: Connie | March 16, 2011 at 18:25
Rotate? It's necessary: otherwise how could I use all the perfume I buy?
Thanx for the opportunity
Posted by: Fabio | March 16, 2011 at 18:32
So glad to see how many rotators there are here! I'm a rotator myself, but I often wish that I had a signature fragrance that people would associate with me; however, I get bored way too quickly for that to ever be the case. The good news is that in the excitement of a new purchase, I'll often abandon older scents only to return to them later. How comforting! thanks for the draw, by the way.
Posted by: key change | March 16, 2011 at 18:39
I rotate, just like everybody else, but sometimes I'll wear one perfume for a few days straight when it happens to fit my mood just the perfect way. Thanks for yet another giveaway!
Posted by: Natalia | March 16, 2011 at 18:56
I just choose fragrances on what looks good/feels right on that day.
I live on the coast in Cental California, and the sesaons are not severe, so I wear that same scents all year round.
Thanks for the giveaway.
Posted by: sunnlitt | March 16, 2011 at 20:11
I rarely ever wear the same perfume two days in a row. I have a large (ish) collection of sample sprays and decants, and I wear whatever I'm in the mood for at any given moment. I used to believe in the idea of a 'signature scent' but with so many beautiful fragrances out there, I just can't stay faithful. :)
Posted by: Daniele R. | March 16, 2011 at 20:18
Most of the times, I change my fragrance every day. Sometimes even twice a day, if particular scent doesn't last long. I get bored easily (with fragrance only) , so rotating perfume is a must. The weather, my activities that day are really important as well as the number of people I am supposed to encounter.
Thank you for the contest.
Posted by: behemot | March 16, 2011 at 20:26
I sort of rotate. I tend to fall in love with something for 7-10 days, and then my nose gets tired, and then I wear something else for 10 days. But I keep coming back to the same ones. In fact, the Bronze Goddess from 2009 is in my heavy rotation (especially when I want to take a vacation). It smells soooo good.
Posted by: Aubrey | March 16, 2011 at 20:53
I pretty much wear the same perfume all the time, but once in a while my wonderful wife finds a new fragrance for me (us) to try. Most of them I love (even Eau de Hermes!), but I've been going back to Marc Jacob's Bang (what can I say, it...um...works ;)
