Giveaway: Cartier Baiser Volé EDP spray 50ml (1.6oz) bottle. It is full, other than 5ml I used up to review it.
How it works: Please leave a comment answering the following squestion: "1) What is your favorite breakfast food? 2) What flavor/dish would you have loved to smell in a perfume?" Each participant will be assigned a number, and the winner will be selected via a random number generator. Draw will be open till 9am tomorrow morning, and I will announce the winner either over the weekend.
Giveaway explanation: anybody from the US or overseas can enter it as long as you answer specific questions explained in the contest rules. My policy is not to retain any full bottles from the manufacturers or PR firms. If a winner does not respond within a week, I reserve a right to randomly pick a runner up.
My answers: 1) Yogurt with berries, honey and tea is my usual breakfast. On the weekends, we add olives, sliced cucumbers, tomatoes, feta cheese and some warm flatbread for a Turkish style breakfast. Another favorite breakfast is comprised of the Russian style crepes with apricot jam and sour cream.
2) Pistachio kulfi. Kulfi is an Indian ice cream made by reducing milk till it is slightly caramelized. The caramel flavor combined with sweet, slightly resinous pistachios is heavenly.
1) What is your favorite breakfast food?
I prefer brunch to breakfast as I'm not usually hungry for anything other than creamy coffee when I wake up, but my favorite morning food is chilaquiles with poached eggs.
2) What flavor/dish would you have loved to smell in a perfume?
Campari! I've heard there are perfumes with a campari note but I've never smelled one.

Thanks for hosting :)
1) It's not an elaborate meal, but there's nothing I love for breakfast more than fried eggs, tomato with unions or cilantro, and cardamon coffee.
2) I'd love to smell realistic strawberries and cream in a perfume that isn't sickeningly sweet.
Posted by: Dominika | August 11, 2011 at 12:02
1. Greek yogurt mixed with blueberries.
2. My favorite Indian dessert: Ras malai! Not sure how it would work in a perfume, but I would love to see someone try.
Posted by: Elizabeth | August 11, 2011 at 12:08
Thank you for offering this! :)
1.) I love ricotta cheese pancakes with berries. I don't have time to make it on a daily basis but on the week-ends it is the best meal ever!
2.) I like the smell of cucumbers, dill and yogurt salad. It's so refreshing! :)
Thank you!

Thanks for the draw!
1) The few times I went to Southern California I *loved* having breakfast burritos. And when I go out to brunch I usually have either simple eggs and bacon or eggs benedict on röstis. Mmm. But your Turkish-style breakfast looks delicious, I have to try it!
2) I'd like to know what cilantro smells like in a fragrance. I'm not sure I'd want to wear it, but I'd like to smell it!
Posted by: Alnysie | August 11, 2011 at 12:11
1) capuccinno, bread and butter, orange juice, half papaya. My perfect "recipe".
2) cognac. I always have to fight the temptation of dabbing it behind my ears :-)
Posted by: Karla | August 11, 2011 at 12:16
Ooooh! What a wonderful draw! Thanks for this, V!
1. Favorite breakfast item: Toasted When Pigs Fly seeded whole grain bread with almond butter, honey, and slices of fresh peaches - heaven!
2. Flavor/dish I'd love to smell in a perfume: Passion fruit!!! I know, I know - there are some passion fruit fragrances out there; but I've yet to smell them. I'm a passion fruit fanatic.
Posted by: karin | August 11, 2011 at 12:21
1.) Favorite breakfast item: it'd have to be quiche lorraine with a mimosa for a special occasion. Mostly I eat granola and yogurt, typical Colorado fair.
2.) The flavor I'd love to smell in a perfume would be horchata, a drink made from sweetened almond milk with spices, served cold. It's spicy, refreshing and not too sweet, perfect!
Thanks for the drawing, so excited!

1- You are all making me hungry. I was going to say bacon and onion tart with an Illy cappuccino, but chilaquiles and turkish breakfast sound *amazing* and make me feel homesick/nostalgic.
2- with all this breakfast talk I'd say a buttery croissant with hazelnuts. Or spicy raita. Lamacun stuffed with herbs. There's a beef pho from LA's Koreatown that is herbaceous and cinnamon-spicy. Mango lassi with freshly grated cardamom. That one.
Posted by: dDub | August 11, 2011 at 12:36
Very tempting bottle
1. French toast topped with honey and a squeeze of lime
2. Soatheast asian special: ginger, coconut milk, lemongrass, lime etc. Crazy LB did a solid stick that came close.
Posted by: sariah | August 11, 2011 at 12:39
Hi V! Thanks for the draw and it's very kind of you to share!
My favorite breakkie is toast and I like it slighty brown and crispy, drizzled with some olive oil, sea salt and mixed dry herbs. I call it The Italian toast!
The smell that I really really want to be featured in perfume is the smell of cooked rice. I love the "smoke"/aura coming from the pot of freshly-cooked rice upon opening the lid. The smell is milky, warm and calming.
Posted by: Chi Nguyen | August 11, 2011 at 12:46
bath and bodyworks did a pistachio handsoap that smells delicious. i also had a handcream with a green tea and hazelnut scent that was perfect. i love the warm, toasty-sweet fragrance of a nut!
Posted by: k | August 11, 2011 at 12:52
I usually have muesli. I make my own, which makes me think of the smell of the nuts roasting in the oven. So homey. Could that work in a perfume?
Posted by: Carla | August 11, 2011 at 12:56
Thanks for the wonderful draw. I'd love this fragrance.
1) One of the best breakfasts I ever had was in New Orleans at a place called Brennans. The special was poached eggs atop a crispy thin toast with Canadian bacon and topped with a buttery winey sauce called Marchand de Vin sauce...and then topped with Hollandaise sauce...served with Pouilly Fuisse!!! Man, did we need a walk around after that , but OMG...YUM!
2) I had a drink at a Brazilian Steak House that served a traditional drink called caipirinha, a cachaca sugar cane rum, sugar & muddled lime...and I had mine with strawberries...I'd love to smell that in a perfume.
Posted by: Maureen | August 11, 2011 at 12:59
Breakfast I actually love two ends of the spectrum...either an easy quick breakfast drink or eggs benedict! :)
I'd love to smell a milky-sweet spice in a fume....
Posted by: Elise | August 11, 2011 at 13:09
1 - My favorite breakfast is plain yogurt with granola and either coffee or tea. I eat it almost every morning and it never gets boring.
2 - I think I would like a fragrance that had the smell of freshly picked basil. There is nothing like it!
Thank you so much for the draw.
Posted by: Tara Monteleone | August 11, 2011 at 13:10
1) Favorite breakfast food would be the awesomeness that is a hot, steamed mantou, two crisp, greasy sticks of youtiao, and a plastic baggie full of fresh soymilk that you can get from the street vendors in Taiwan.
2) There's this dessert, hua dofu, which is a really silky tofu pudding-like thing. It's traditionally served with sweetened red beans or sweet boiled peanut soups, but I like it best with sweet ginger syrup. The carmelized sugar notes, warm and spicy ginger, with a light bean-y accent would be something I would find incredibly interesting to see how that would meld into a perfume.
Posted by: Jeff | August 11, 2011 at 13:12
Thanks for the draw! My favorite breakfast food is fava beans mashed with chickpeas and garlic then drizzled with olive oil and fresh lemon, salty haloum cheese on the side and maybe some spicy lamb sausage! A dish I'd like to see in a perfume is Meghli! It's a pudding spiced with anise, cardamom, cinnamon and allspice it's topped with coconut and toasty pinenuts walnuts and pistachios. OT has a wonderful warm cozy smell.
Posted by: Amanda | August 11, 2011 at 13:12
Thanks for holding the draw!
Breakfast for me, as for many Brazilians, is bread, butter, and coffee with a little bit of milk. Nothing else necessary. Especially when my wife made the bread and the coffee is the real stuff from Peets.
A foody perfume? I have trouble thinking about one that would convince me as a masculine. But perhaps something that smelled like an amazing bottle of Bordeaux...
Posted by: Fernando | August 11, 2011 at 13:21
I can see it working well. These kind of toasty notes are used time to time in perfume (most recently Lutens' Jeux de Peau.) How do you make your muesli?
Posted by: Victoria | August 11, 2011 at 13:25
Thanks for the draw!
1. My favorite breakfast food is coffee... if that can be considered a food. I prefer brunch and usually go for some version of a poached egg, toast, and sausage.
2. I love the idea of turning favorite cocktail into a perfume. In summer, I love a good Gin and Tonic and a fizzy lime vetiver would be a wonderful perfume on a hot day. Or how about a boozy lemon manhatten? Or a salty strawberry margarita?
Posted by: CMH | August 11, 2011 at 13:25
My usual breakfast is granola with honey and milk. My favorite breakfast would probably be Dosa/lentil crepes (though Dosa is one of my favorite foods not just breakfast..:)).
I would love to smell tamarind in perfume (With a bit of cilantro and mint thrown in).
Posted by: Lavanya | August 11, 2011 at 13:26
I guess what I usually eat is brunch. My breakfast at 6am is just a cup of tea and perhaps some fruit.
Posted by: Victoria | August 11, 2011 at 13:31
1. This may sound weird but I love having pie for breakfast. A nice slice of fruit pie and a hot cup of coffee is my favorite breakfast.
2. The smell that I get when I take the top off of my rice cooker revealing just cooked, steaming basmati rice.
Posted by: dleep | August 11, 2011 at 13:35
Tamarind... mmmm It is a favorite in our household too. Have you ever tried tamarind leaves? I once picked up some fresh leaves from an Indian grocery store and made a simple dal with them. It was so delicious. A bit like sorrel, but more floral.
I also make a tamarind drink by mixing tamarind with water, lime juice, salt and ground cardamom (or with ground cumin.) If my jasmine is in bloom, I throw in a few flowers to infuse the liquid. Otherwise, some rosewater (with cardamom) or orange blossom water (with cumin) works really well. It is delicious.
Posted by: Victoria | August 11, 2011 at 13:35
Not weird at all. Some of my other favorite breakfasts include gingerbread! And maybe some cheese and jam to put on top. :)
Posted by: Victoria | August 11, 2011 at 13:36
1. My favorite breakfast is scrambled eggs with country potatoes
and good sausage. Not something that I can eat every day.
2. I have a lemon thyme growing on my window sill that smells
heavenly. I would love to have perfume that soothed and uplifted
me like that smell.
Thanks for the drawing.
But, now I want everyone to answer if they think that they know
a perfume that might satisfy these requests!! They all sound so
interesting!
Posted by: sunnlitt | August 11, 2011 at 13:37
1. My favorite breakfast food is quite often plain yogurt with blueberries or strawberries, along with raw seeds like sunflower, pumpkin, and flax. Or sometimes it's just leftovers. Could be anything!
2. I love Indian and Thai curries and would be intrigued by a perfume that smelled like some kind of curry.
Posted by: Claudia | August 11, 2011 at 13:57
1. My favorite breakfast meal is my french toast, i overload it with vanilla extact, cinnamon, and butter.. so bad for you, but oh so delicious =)
2. there was a drink i had at a japanese steakhouse called a pinapple sour, the ingredients were sake, vodka, pineapple and basil, and fresh lemons.. it was soo refreshing, and something that, if i had found it bottled, would be one of my summer staples!!! Ananas Fizz by L'artisan was probably the closest, but no cigar =/
Thank you for the drawing, victoria!!
Posted by: Stephen | August 11, 2011 at 13:59
Thanks for the draw! Onto your questions:
1) fresh milk, cereals and fruits... And a slice of home-made pie, if possible!
2) if it were possible, I would love to translate some tastes into smells: milk and mint or home made lemon cream, the thick flavour of marron glacés with candied violets. Their smell alone is less tempting. Maybe the scent of a freshly made crème brûlée à la lavande would be nice - I think it inspired a perfume already, but I was not really convinced by the result... ;)
Posted by: Franca | August 11, 2011 at 14:01
ooh that tamarind drink sounds lovely- a little bit like jal jeera but I've never thought to add rose water/cardamom. Will definitely try it..Do you warm/cook the tamarind in the water or do you use it as is?
I don't think I've ever cooked with tamarind leaves- will look out for it the next time I visit an Indian store (I'll check my local farmers market too- I've found red sorrel leaves (gongura) there before)
Posted by: Lavanya | August 11, 2011 at 14:05
1. my perfect breakfast? i have more than one. first - chocolate croissants (petit pain au chocolat) and plain croissants with fresh unsalted butter and a big cafe au lait. second - french toast with butter and maple syrup, bacon, hash browns, toast with butter and jam, orange juice, and coffee. either of which i could eat at any time of day! i love breakfast food at odd hours. i often eat oatmeal for dinner because i work so late - it's light yet satisfying.
2. i would love a perfume that smells of french toast - creamy, with hints of vanilla and cinnamon and maple. but not too sweet. maybe a hint of bacon to perk it up. ha. that would be weird.
Posted by: minette | August 11, 2011 at 14:29
My favorite breakfast is waffles with fresh strawberries. I'm not sure what my favorite meal-related scent/flavor would be -- perhaps saffron ice cream? I love the smell of bacon cooking but don't want that in a perfume. Ditto for the scent of onions, carrots and celery sauteing, though that's one of my favorite cooking-related scents.
Posted by: jirish | August 11, 2011 at 14:40
1) German rye bread with lingonberry jam and fresh cream cheese. I could eat it every day!
2) Speaking of rye bread, I would love to find it in perfume. It is so savory, so rich, I think that it would be very nice.
Posted by: Carla | August 11, 2011 at 14:42
either greek yogurt with blueberries, a bit of granola & a touch of honey, or an egg, over medium, with a slice of sourdough toast!
Hmmm...I think strong coffee, toast & bacon...with a touch of incense burning in the background.
Posted by: Janet | August 11, 2011 at 14:53
1) In Hawaii, I fell in love with banana and macadamia nut pancakes with coconut syrup for breakfast.
2) Also in Hawaii, I had a coconut basil cocktail (ingredients: coconut, pineapple, basil and vodka). I would love to see this as a scent.
Posted by: Joe | August 11, 2011 at 15:14
1. My favorite breakfast these days is yogurt with fresh peaches and blueberries.
2. I'd love to smell a slightly spicy wild blueberry with its twigs and leaves in a perfume. All the synthetic blueberry notes I've smelled have been just horrible. Maybe one of the new phytoperfumery extraction techniques that Pierre Guillaume is pioneering will be able to capture the true fragrance one day.
Posted by: Kathryn | August 11, 2011 at 15:21
1) What is your favorite breakfast food?
I like basic stuff but I often really struggle whether or not to go the salty route or the sweet route with breakfast. One of my favourites is tofu scramble (or egg scramble) with onions, broccoli, olives and a random assortment of other vegetables. With coffee and toast of course. My other favourite would be French toast. But a specific type of fancy French toast and I'm not sure what it's called. It had some bananas fried with brown sugar on top and a layer of cream cheese or ricotta in the middle. I smothered it with maple syrup and had a giant mug of coffee and it was unforgettable.
2) What flavor/dish would you have loved to smell in a perfume?
I can't really think of a dish. I'm not into sweet perfume so it would have to be something un-sweet. I love the smell of freshly chopped basil, but I'm sure that's been done... One of my favourite drinks is beer. Hard liquor notes are often present in perfume, but never beer (not that I know of anyway). There is the yeast note in En Passant but it's not quite the same thing. I would probably hate this beer note (I like my beer in liquid form and preferably on its way to my stomach), but if someone could capture that first smell that emerges from a cold bottle when you crack it open that would be pretty cool.
Posted by: Mo | August 11, 2011 at 15:29
1. Whole wheat blueberry pancakes, dark maple syrup and Greek yogurt, with a sprinkle of Kosher salt.
2. Coconut macaroons. I know some perfumes have a coconut note, but I like the hint of almond extract and the toasted coconut smell of macaroons.
Posted by: Suzy Q | August 11, 2011 at 15:38
Thanks for the draw!
My fave breakfast is a crispy waffle with butter, strawberries, and whipped cream. Love waffles.
Flavor or dish I'd love to smell in a perfume is difficult! I've smelled so many. How about I go Proustian and say the smell of a fresh-baked madeleine? Calisson has been represented several times, why not madeleine?
Posted by: Joe Allegretti | August 11, 2011 at 16:00
My Favorite Breakfast IS Steak n Scrabbled eggs W/ hot sauce! Cant go wrong with that!
The dish I would love to smell in a fragrance would be HOT baked green apple pie! OH YES! With plumeria & rose flower and a bit of sandal wood to add that warmth!
Posted by: Joshua Ryan | August 11, 2011 at 16:18
1. Very strong black coffee with some cookies or chocolate is the most important thing in the morning. I don't call it "breakfast", I call it "coffee". Then, an hour or two later on, my stomach already demands a serious meal with some meat ect. It can be still in the morning, and it's my "breakfast", but it looks very much like lunch ;)
2. Cucumbers or whole vegetable salad. Why there are so many fruity (mainstream) perfumes and no "vegetable"? ;)
And thank you for the draw!
Posted by: catmom | August 11, 2011 at 16:24
A shrimp and guacamole omelette, and for perfume, I'd love a fragrance based on Amarone wine....
Posted by: Masha | August 11, 2011 at 16:25
Curious to try Biaser vole...
1. Normally, what I have for breakfast is a big plate of seasonal fruit. It is always the sweetest, juiciest, ripest. But if I could forget about diets for the rest of my life, I would always have a cup of hot chocolate and tartines beurres, both in an authentic parisian style.
2. Chocolate! As I have already mentioned, chocolate is one of my favourite flavors, and my love for it translated into a fascination for its smell. For years, I tried one women´s perfume after another, in the quest of finding the perfect chocolate note. After encountering only confectrion-like reproductions, I had almost given up, until I found what I was looking for in a rather unexpected place. It was the Dior counter, but in the men´s section. The chocolate note in Dior Homme is the best one I have smelled and the only one I faithfully wear.

Thanks for the opportunity!
My favorite breakfast is my homemade granola (very simple) with Rice Chex & blueberries. On weekends, my husband sometimes hashbrown potatoes w/eggs. His potatoes are the best I've ever eaten.
He also makes wonderful iced green tea. We've been drinking gallons of it, with crushed mint and lemon mixed in. That's a smell I'd love to have in a perfume.
Posted by: rosarita | August 11, 2011 at 16:37
My favorite breakfast is bacon, eggs, and grits. Maybe some toast on the side too. Definitely lots of coffee.
I don't know if I'd want to wear it, but I'd love to smell my grandmother's trifle with blackberries.
Thanks for the drawing.
Posted by: KathyT | August 11, 2011 at 16:50
My favorite breakfast is a protein shake with berries or pineapple and a mug of coffee. I don't like flavor/food fragrances. Too mixed-media for me. I would love to enter the drawing. Thanks!
Posted by: sara | August 11, 2011 at 17:04
I usually have what I call a breakfast sundae: Greek yogurt, seasonal fruit, a teaspoon of raisins, some shopped walnuts and a drizzle of maple syrup.
Italian rum cake is a good accord.
Posted by: Sandra Levine | August 11, 2011 at 17:08
thanks for the draw victoria!
1. my favourite breakfast since i was a kid is hot cocoa with brown seeded bread toast topped with butter and honey.
2.the flavour of my mother's cheese pie, baking in the oven, the smell of vanilla and raisins and lemon and orange peel wafting in the air. it's sweet, milky, warm , cozy but has something slightly tart about it. it's never cloying always inviting.
Posted by: ana | August 11, 2011 at 17:44
I have a hot cross bun every day on the tube to work - it's about the only thing I can face so early. But you can't beat an English breakfast with the papers on a wintery Sunday, when the morning light is coming in through the windows and you're gearing up for a good walk.
As a more summery note, I love the smell of ripe tomatoes when they're warm in the sun and still on the vine. I think that would be a good note in a perfume - any suggestions of where I might find it?!

Fun idea!
Favorite breakfast food: a freshly baked orange scone and two shots of espresso.
Flavor/dish I'd like to smell in a perfume: yogurt with cucumbers and dill.

1) What is your favorite breakfast food?
I like scrambled (or omelets) eggs and Portuguese sausage for breakfast.
2) What flavor/dish would you have loved to smell in a perfume?
Had to think about this one.. maybe coconut mochi? Smells so yummy but not super sweet.
Thanks for the fun questions and giveaway!

I usually have yogurt for breakfast because I always disliked traditional American breakfasts. When I was in Paris however, it was the first time I loved breakfast. I went downstairs and the breakfast waiting for me was a croissant, cafe au lait and some fresh fruit and my usual yogurt. I didn't even have to smell bacon and eggs.
I think I'd like to smell something that had milk and honey, with some almonds, and with subtle touches of fruit.
Posted by: Tourbillion | August 11, 2011 at 18:14
Thanks for the draw Victoria!
1) I'm Italian: for breakfast a cup of Italian coffee, two hot slice of bread with apricot or strawberry jam and a full glass of fresh milk.
2) I'd like to smell in a perfume whisky and dark chocolate.
Thank you!

1. Watermelon. Or my homemade ambrosia: mint syrup, supremed oranges, mandrian oranges, pineapple, shredded coconut, maraschino cherries with their juice, and toasted pecans. Who says that sweets are for kids or dessert? There is nothing like an early morning sugar high.
2. I like herbal scents in perfumes: basil, rosemary, sage, and mint.
Posted by: chatchien | August 11, 2011 at 18:36
1. My favorite breakfast food is a bagel with lox, capers, onion and cream cheese.
2. my grandmothers lemon verbena sugar cookies served with her ginger iced tea. !!! amazing.

1. beignets and coffee
2. beignets and coffee
Can't go wrong with that.

1. veggie smoothie with kale and chocolate almond milk (seriously! it's awesome if you can look past the smell and color)
2. roasted red pepper would be good. I think it smells a bit like clove, when roasted or smoked and might make a good unisex frag.
Posted by: Solosean | August 11, 2011 at 20:04
I know that Demeter does a Tomato pick me up spray but I haven't tried it. I completely love that smell as well.
Posted by: thea | August 11, 2011 at 20:06
1. Pain au chocolat. Preferably while breakfasting in Paris.
2. I think I might actually wear a pain au chocolat scented fragrance, easy on the butter.

1) My favorite breakfast, though not my daily one, is Swedish pancakes (crepes) with lingonberry jelly, a couple strips of lean bacon and strong, black coffee.
2)Believe it or not, barbeque. lol Not the smell of bbq sauce but the smell of the charcoal and blackened meat in the fresh outdoors.
Posted by: LaMaroc | August 11, 2011 at 22:01
My favorite breakfast food is a good sausage gravy and biscuits.
I think I would like to smell a perfume of maybe fresh baked bread and raisins
Posted by: Anjel | August 11, 2011 at 22:34
1. My favorite breakfast is probably the works: bacon, eggs, blueberry, banana nut, or strawberry pancakes, hot steaming cup of coffee, maybe a little sweet pastry. Of course I can't eat like that any more, so now it's cottage cheese and berries.
2. The mixture of caramel and cheese just-popped popcorn.
Posted by: TaffyJ | August 11, 2011 at 22:39
1) My favorite breakfast is a berry smoothie, either strawberry, or blueberry or both, made with yogurt.
2) I would love to wear a fragrance that reminds me of my father's favorite summertime food; the smell of fresh strawberries and vanilla mixed to perfection in his homemade ice cream.
Posted by: AnnaMarie | August 11, 2011 at 23:46
1) What is your favorite breakfast food?
I normally don't eat breakfast, but when I do I either like a classic English breakfast (minus the black pudding- ew!) or a fresh bagel and cream cheese.
2) What flavor/dish would you have loved to smell in a perfume?
I absolutely love the aroma of real, fresh thyme in cooking and have yet to run across it in a perfume. I also really like the smell of roasting meat, but I'm less sure how well that would translate to fragrance.
Thanks for the draw! :)

1.Just a bowl of Cheerios with bananas.
2.Clove.
Posted by: Frank | August 11, 2011 at 23:52
1) I love to awaken to a plate of wonderfully tender, flaky blueberry scones served with clotted cream and accompanied by a glass of freshly squeezed orange juice. A small bouquet of sweet peas on the table is absolutely key to the experience. That's not to say the scones and juice aren't divine on their own, but the scent of sweet peas mingled with those tastes gives the whole affair a tangy "greeness" that makes it sublime.
2) There is a little Indian restaurant downtown that serves a bread pudding for dessert. As you might expect, it's an Indian spin on the classic après favorite. What you might never expect is the fragrance wafting from the plate when they bring it to you. The unmistakable scent of saffron, milk, honey, and a touch of curry (yes, curry for dessert) flood the mind with images out of a Byron daydream - a Turkish seraglio - a mask in Venice - secrets sweet, spiced and a little scandalous.
And the bread pudding isn't bad either.

I love eggs baked with polenta and cheese, over spinach or some other greens. I also love toast with butter and honey.
I think that adas polow would make a lovely perfume -- basmati rice, lentils, raisins, dates and saffron.
Thank you for the draw!

1) Indian ghee roast dosas made from lentils, fenugreek seeds etc.

1. Green Juice - usually I use celery, spinach, cucumber and tart green apples, and add whatever else is in season or at hand, mint leaves, avocado, carrots, cabbage, etc
2. A desert I make with fresh pineapple and toasted pinenuts

It's cold here for most of the year so I like a hot&spicy chicken soup for breakfast:
Cook the broth beforehand (condiments: chili, ginger, onion, garlic, cellery, carrots) and it's easy to fix for many mornings. Then just ladle the broth in smaller pot, let it start boiling and add 2 raw eggs (slide into the hot broth), beansprouts or bambooshoots (and any other vegetables you like - pak choy is superb) and right before eating, some fresh coriander - heavenly. Noodles go well with it too. Don't boil the eggs too hard or too long - 2 minutes is perfect. It's slightly different every day for the ingredients vary - only broth is the same. :)
I'd like to smell fresh tomatoes - right at the moment as you pick the tomato off the plant it emits the most invigorating scent - it's actually scent of the tomato plant itself, functioning as bug repellent - but it's irresistible for me.

What an exciting draw. : )
1) Matthew's golden organic English muffins with Nutella, a mug of milky tea, Greek yogurt with cherry preserves.
2) This one is rather difficult, as I find I never enjoy photorealistic representations as I do abstractions. The thing I enjoy most, the smell of baking bread, is not one I'd find attractive in a perfume. I like the coffee note in in Borneo 1834—it is exactly like the coffee they serve you in Indonesia, earthy, more mineral than savoury—behind the obviously inedible wall of patchouli.

Breakfast- A cardamom scented heart shaped norwegian waffle, topped with a small dollop each of sour cream and blackcurrant jam, and a light dusting of vanilla powdered sugar(that I can't find here in the US!)
Perfume notes- More of the same-Cardamom, blackcurrant and vanilla!! Mmmmmm;-)

Pick me! Pick me!
1) Coffee and a breakfast bar. Breakfast o champions ;)
2) I love the perfumes with milky notes, like Hermes Eau Claire. I'd like to see more milk. I've heard about a rose pudding that people eat in Iran... I think that would make a great perfume

Breakfast: Good strong coffee, some pickled herring, and lightly buttered toasted rye bread.
Perfume notes: Like another breakfast favorite (panukakku - oven pancake)... Cardamom and a bit of tartness from the lingonberry sauce.

I have heard such good things about this perfume and have not had a chance to try it... would love to win of course!
---
For breakfast I typically like oatmeal with fruit and cream.
For a new perfume flavor I would like to see someone develop an oriental or chypre fragrance with pineapple. Remember the original formulation for Lauren in the 1980s? Something like that with a more nuanced drydown.... that would be great

Is it too late?
1- I normally skip breakfast but every once in a while I make my grandmother's almonde pastry which is almost like a coffee cake except the dough itself is not sweetened. The recipe calls for a sugared butter and almonde paste that I pour over it. I normally make it at the holidays. It has a lovely smell. It is my favorite breakfast and the favorite of the entire family.
2- I would like to see the almonde flavor of the danish used in perfume. The bread has a yeasty smell and the almonde is sugared but balanced by the bread. I should send Serge Lutens a piece of the danish-- he would do wonders with it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

) What is your favorite breakfast food?
I'm easy to please. My husband usually makes breakfast, but since he started a new job which requires him to leave for work right as I am getting up, I will have the opportunity to eat more of what I truly love for breakfast: McDonalds' Egg and Sausage and Cheese McMuffins. I love them more than any other breakfast food. I know, I know...
2) What flavor/dish would you have loved to smell in a perfume?
I would love to have a fragrance that smells like Fresca! I just love the bubbly, slightly astringent, grapefruitty but better smell of it.

My favourite breakfast item is an omelette with feta cheese and some parsley in it, typical turkish.. of course some strong turkish tea with it.
I would love to have a fragrance with hazelnut and honey notes, I know there are fragrances with these notes but I usually cannot smell the hazelnuts unfortunately.

I love peanut butter and banana sandwiches with Earl Grey tea for breakfast.
One of my favorite summer drinks is the mango mojito. I would love to have a perfume that smelled as refreshing as it does.

Cornmeal pecan waffles with maple syrup. I would love the smell of coconut rice with lime leaf.

1) What is your favorite breakfast food?
Oatmeal with peanut butter, strawberries, banana and a sprinkle of cinnamon sugar. Topped with freshly ground coffee and almond milk
2) What flavor/dish would you have loved to smell in a perfume?
Warm cinnamon and caramel peach pie. I think if a perfume could open with a buttery/caramel warmth, then dry down to a peach that would be beautiful!

Oh what a nice conversation about breakfast while I'm eating mine! I love Greek yogurt with strawberries and honey and a piece of whole grain toast with tea.
My favorite smell, which I have not found in perfume but in body lotion is a dense apricot. I have also spent a while searching for a good perfume that smells like fresh coriander.
Thanks for the draw!

Flavour in a perfume: cinnamon and fried plantains
