Happy holidays! I wish all of you a wonderful holiday season, filled with happiness and excitement. Hope that it ushers in a great new year.
I am taking a break for a few days to spend time with my family. I will be back next week with new reviews, and of course, with the usual "Best of 2011" post. Meanwhile, I would like to hear from you if there are any specific topics or reviews you would like me to cover in the new year.

Happy Holidays, Victoria! What a pleasure it's been over the past year getting to know you through your blog, and now the Frag. Foundation Indie Committee. I don't have any topics requests right now, my brain is occupied thinking of new things for my own blog. Can't wait to see your "best of 2011" post, though!

'Prettige feestdagen en gelukkig nieuwjaar' Victoria from the Netherlands.
I would like to read about male and female in fragrance and what that has to do with being a woman or a man. For me male of female in fragrance is mainly about the personality or character of a perfume and I can be best friends with both.

Happy holidays! I adore Bois de Jasmin as it is and I only want to ask you never to forsake your reviews on rose-themed perfumes; as well as the history and art-based posts I so much enjoy.

Happy Holidays! I read your blog everyday, and it is, in my humble opinion, the best perfume blog in existence :) Your writing style is so distinctive, so evocative. Thank you for a wonderful year of blogging, and for all your time and dedication. Never stop!

Merry Christmas and a great 2012 Victoria. It is always a pleasure to read what you have to say. I always think of them as articles or chapters not blog posts. I am sure there is a book in there!

I don't have any brilliant suggestions, I just wanted to say how much I enjoy the current mix of content: the fragrance notes posts, building a fragrance wardrobe, and the wonderful posts on food. And of course the reviews. Thank you for so much pleasure and enlightenment.
Happy Holidays to you and yours and all the best in the New Year.

Hi, Victoria. I love your blog and I am a budding perfumista.
Topics for the 2012? I have a curious one for you. How about perfumes that are described as "sheer" but with long sillage that inevitably end up being irritating? This is how I would describe Balenciaga Paris L'essence (and Paris to some extent). I am a bit concerned because this perfume has been described as the perfect office scent and I wonder what is the molecule responsible for such "sheer" but deadly perfumes.
Thanks and Happy Holidays.

There are so many--musks, some types of sharp ambers, woods. They are the ones that stick around the longest on your skin, and they might end up being overwhelming, even if the fragrance is not that rich. The fragrances you mention have a very strong ambery-woody accords, which are quite sharp and dry.
